We did it! We put on a safe and fun soccer league during a pandemic! Sure, there were bumps in the road, but we all worked together, and thousands of kids (2400!) played soccer.
Parents of 4U - 8U players, you can now make plans on Saturdays.
Parents of 10U - 14U kids, you're still in it for the playoff tournament in December.
To commemorate what we've all accomplished by working together, volunteers and their families are invited to the awards dinner on Monday, Dec 13, at Victory Park, outdoors. Please RSVP by Dec 7, and then bring a picnic blanket. It won't be fancy, but it will be fun! There will be speeches, awards, giveaways, and presentation of the Best Team Name. If you can help setup or clean afterwards, please email events@ayso13.org.

Want to do it again, next fall? Mark your calendar to register on May 1, 2022. If you have an older 14U player, be aware that there are only so many 16U teams, and they fill up early.
As 2021 draws to a close, please consider making a donation to Region 13. Our region awarded around $20,000 in scholarships to help families through the pandemic. Back in the old days, that would have been $3,000. Fortunately, more than 400 families generously donated over $9,000 last summer. Still, Region 13 depends on fundraisers and gifts to keep prices low for next year and ensure everyone has the chance to play soccer. If you can chip in an extra, tax-deductible $20 or so, please donate online.
Speaking of fundraising events, you can also help by volunteering to referee in the The Myles Standish Thanksgiving Tournament! This tournament earns money for Region 13, and needs referees on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Thanksgiving. You'll see kids from all over SoCal playing soccer at Victory Park, and the games qualify toward your Intermediate Referee upgrade. If you're not a referee, come and watch a game or two at Victory Park anyhow, and cheer on the Region 13 teams. Email Brian Bonham <brian@bonham.us> to get a referee assignment.

COVID-19 testing is on Tuesday (11/23) for MST players or anyone else who needs testing before Thanksgiving. The results will be available on Wednesday.
Testing resumes on subsequent Thursdays from 6-8 pm, through December 16.

Would you like to be the change you want to see in 2022? Email rc@ayso13.org about joining the Region 13 Board. Besides managing the league, soccer-adjacent positions like newsletter editor and uniform coordinator are available.
Info on playoffs. The schedule will be announced ... soon. For 10U-14U, keep Dec 4-5 and 11-12 clear.
Most games are at Victory Park. If elsewhere, referees, please bring the game cards (or scan them with the QR code on the back) to Victory Park post-haste.
