The real risk is mediocrity.

Hey friend, I've been thinking about gifts and gift giving more than normal this week. It can be a bit anxiety inducing when trying to decide what would make the perfect gift, whether it's for a birthday or wedding. But ultimately, I've come to realize how blessed we are to even be able to affirm our appreciation for loved ones with material things.
🔥 Highlights- I started developing a game in three.js which is basically a 3D version of a lumosity game I enjoyed called Pinball Recall. You can check it out here at this link. It's not done yet, and I'm adding updates to this twitter thread. I've always been eyeing three.js for years, but finally I was able to act on this desire. It was a combination of having a completely thought out concept, and having the know-how (plus tutorial guidance) that enabled me. It's nowhere near as complex as the google experiment type projects, but more importantly it's reminding me of why I first fell in love with coding.
- I've been a listener and speaker in several twitter spaces. So far I'm really enjoying meeting new people in this manner. It's still a bit difficult knowing when to interject because of delays but lot's of fun for such little effort.
- I've been continuing my daily meditation habit. It's my newest habit so I'm carefully tending to it like a sapling. I've found that it can be tempting to skip if it's not the first thing I do once I get to my desk. Knowing it only takes 10 minutes is for sure an easier pill to swallow.
💔 Lowlights- I thought I would launch past web games I built but cleaning them up and preparing them will take more work than I thought. Such is the perfectionist in me.
- I did not end up recording more landing page feedback videos. Nor did I edit together the ones I've recorded already.
🎯 Goals- Finish this 3D pinball recall game and get it to a state where I can playtest it with players.
- Have a really memorable time at my friend's wedding this coming weekend!

What stuck out to me was her explanation of the classic Buddha hand gestures or Mudras. 📖 Book The Entrepreneur's Paradox by Curtis Morley. Essentially the paradox is what got you here won't get you there. Curtis uses many colorful analogies to alligator filled swamps on islands, to climbing Mt.Kilimanjaro.
The real risk is mediocrity. This line stood out to me as Shaan Puri stated during one of his podcast episodes recently. It stoked that ever burning fire within me, and put my fears back in their place. So often we get worried about trumped up dangers, when really we should be optimizing for significant lives. When faced with a dilemma take the one that excites or challenges you, because otherwise we will never tap our full potentials. What do you feel you are risking in your journey?
