Hey friend, How was your weekend? I spent the weekend enjoying back to back double dates. Also I wrote about my 100 pushups a day habit, I'm hoping you can apply it to your own habit of choice. https://www.akinhwan.com/blog/pushups/
🔥 Highlights- I finally started posting to my instagram account. I also connected a Facebook page and Twitter, because why not. I'm researching a way to queue posts up to a week in advance so it's less likely I forget to post daily. I'm going to make 100 posts before I even think about quitting. I did not think at the start of this year I'd be a content creator, rather than coding some SaaS app. But that is just where my heart is leading me.
- Started a weekly meeting with Aswin John who has his own newsletter called "Learn Then Apply" here.
- Followed and researched a bunch of, what I can only bucket together as ... 'visualizers'?
💔 Lowlights- I received a co founder agreement for the YC Build Sprint, and was quickly turned off by the last clause. I decided against working with my new 'friend' because we had only met virtually twice, and I felt like it was more his dream than mine. Either dream of the same thing, or stop working to make someone else's dream come true.
🎯 Goals- Post everyday to my instagram account. Don't get bogged down by trying to digitize and make everything clean. Get feedback from early followers.
- Create a email course about hackathons (sort of like a drip campaign). Mainly because I'd like to offer some free thing of value on my personal site.
🔗 Link The Lindy Newsletter by Paul SkallasI've only read his first on 4HL, in which he partitions 'work' into a consistency and payoff space. 🎵 SongYour Old Droog X Tha God Fahim - Slam Dunk Contest feat. Pharoahe Monch (Prod by Nottz)
🎙️ PodcastI have been binge listening to the "Founders" podcast. David Senra is distilling the lessons from founder autobiographies. It is a treasure, and I am considering becoming a paid subscriber once I finish the free episodes! 🖼️ Picture
I've been studying Scott McCloud's diagram of facial expressions from his book "Making Comics". It is fascinating to understand on a deeper level how emotions mix to reflect on our faces. 📖 Book I read "The Uncertainty Mindset" by Vaughn Tan before I began this newsletter but only recently reviewed my highlights. It contains innovation insights from some of the world's top chefs and restaurants.
What are you going to give a hundred to? 💯often times implies percent effort towards a quality endeavor. But what single thing can you do 100 times? This quantity milestone may be what teaches you enough about what works and what doesn't, and whether it is sustainable.
