Nursing Times Awards 2024
 
We want to share some good news and best practice, Lancashire & South Cumbria Primary Care Training Hub submitted two entries to the Nursing Times Awards 2024. We are delighted to inform you that we have been shortlisted for both entries in the category Nursing in Primary Care. Please Download and read read the letter for the full information.
Attention All Practices
 
Are you struggling to recruit into non-clinical roles?
Do you have live vacancies or pending vacancies for non-clinical roles?
If the answer is yes, why not let us work in partnership with your practice to recruit and train your future workforce.
Lancashire and South Cumbria Primary Care Training Hub are offering a free 6-week programme for practices to utilise to recruit into administrative roles. The programme is for candidates aged 18-30 years old and will consist of 3-weeks of accredited training and a 3-weeks practice placement in a non-clinical role. TRAINING

Practice Manager Group Mentoring Sessions
 
Due to the popularity of our group mentoring sessions for new to practice Managers and aspiring Assistant Practice Managers we have arranged a second group of 4 sessions. 
If you are a newly promoted PM (within first 18 months) or an aspiring Assistant Practice Manager or if you feel you require some additional mentoring to support, you in your role please email mbpcc.lscthub@nhs.net with your expression of interest to join the next cohort.
North West Wider Workforce Clinical Supervision Course 
Additional dates have been added to run another, slightly smaller than normal cohort of the Wider Workforce & Foundations Supervisor Course on the below dates: 
  • Day 1 – Wednesday 11th September (9am to 5pm)
  • Day 2 – Wednesday 9th October (9am to 5pm)
This is a 2-day course via Zoom, you must be available to attend both days.
Please Download flyer for full details and complete this sign-up form to express your interest. For GPs and Advanced Clinical Practitioners working at Advanced Practice (Level 7).
Please note: demand for this course is high so we recommend early sign-up. Delegates already on the waiting list will be offered priority booking. 
Care Navigation Training
 
As part of the Delivery plan for recovering access to primary care, care navigation training is available for practice staff to support patients get the help they need from primary care.  
Two levels of e-learning training are available: foundation and advanced. Both are free of charge. To complete the learning, please register via the Care Navigation portal. The benefits to practice staff completing this training include better skills retention and knowledge transfer within practices and to offer greater standardisation of approaches across networks.

If you are interested in any apprenticeship for yourself, a member of staff or new recruit, please complete the Training Hub Expressions of Interest Form and advice and support will be provided.

  New!   Apprenticeships from Lighthouse Group with NHS Leadership Academy (NHSLA)

FURTHER UPDATES

NIHR funded research project evaluating the New To Practice Fellowship schemes for GPs in England
 
You are invited to take part in an NIHR funded research project that seeks to evaluate the current New to Practice Fellowship schemes for GPs in England.
York Medical School are looking to understand how GP fellowship schemes impact on participants and faculty, what about them is working and for whom, and does the context of that learning impact the outcomes. The research team are seeking to recruit volunteers to form focus groups or be interviewed in order to understand this further.
