Straws, Resin Receive BPI Certification

NantBioPlastics, LLC recently received certification on its straws and compounds by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI).

NBP's Wave Ware brand of natural beige and black straws, along with BioCal beige resin (or compound), comply with the testing requirements and specifications established in the American Society for Testing and Materials standard for compostable products (ASTM D6400).

Why be certified with BPI?
"The BPI Certification Mark indicates third-party verification of compostability for manufacturers and brand owners to use on products and packaging and for consumers, end-users, and composters to use when determining whether or not a product or package is compostable," BPI lists on its website, bpiworld.org. "BPI is the only third-party verification of ASTM standards for compostable products in North America."

NBP's BPI certificate number for its straws and resin is #10529410.
