Stronger Together: Reflecting on 9/11 and Our Unity
|
|
|
September 11th, also known as 9/11, is a day etched into the collective memory of Americans and our friends and allies around the world. It was a heinous act against the United States, but let us reflect on those who rushed toward the devastation to help others.
In that moment, it didn’t matter who we were—strangers, neighbors, police officers, and firefighters—all came together to aid anyone they could in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. Search dogs were brought in to assist in the recovery efforts at Ground Zero.
The phrase "E Pluribus Unum,"

meaning "Out of many, one,"
underscores the importance of unity in our nation, a country rich with diverse cultures, religions, and ethnicities. Our greatest strength lies in this diversity, and it is crucial that we recognize and celebrate it.
Today, the social fabric of our country feels frayed, even to the point of tearing. It is vital that our public servants put aside personal differences and serve with a balanced approach to decision-making, using your tax dollars for the greater good. We are the great melting pot of the world, a nation that others look to for leadership.
We, the people, must remember the unity we showed on that infamous day—how we stood shoulder-to-shoulder to weather a senseless tragedy and help those in need. In moments like these, we reveal our true strength. Though our challenges persist, we must never forget that we are stronger together than we are divided.

Many thanks to David Anderson, and Better Indiana for sponsoring an incredible event last night to support Democrats in Hendricks county!
We were at the wonderful locally owned restaurant, Rush off Main, in Brownsburg.
Three state house candidates came together, Tiffany Stoner, Robert Pope and me in a night filled with hope and joy.
Friends, neighbors, volunteers and donors came together so that we could all make Indiana better. Priceless!
