Take Action Now is a biweekly call from the Hanover Democratic Committee

for grassroots action to move our country forward during these exciting times.

Please join us in taking these simple actions on the local, state and national levels.

Get ready to vote

Early voting begins on September 19! Democrats are excited to vote for our fantastic ticket and want to get as many early votes in the bank as possible. The early voting site is in the Wickham Building - 7497 County Complex Rd, Hanover, 23069. The hours are:

Monday - Friday hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Saturday, Oct 25 & Nov 1 hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Curbside Voting is available during these hours

Absentee Ballot drop box is available from Sept 19 - Nov 4 at 7PM

Register to vote, update your information, find your polling location, and check your voter registration here.

The deadline to register to vote, update registration or request an absentee ballot is October 24. Apply to receive an absentee mail in ballot here.

Be sure to check with the teens and college students to see if they have registered and requested a mail in ballot, if needed.

Mark your calendar

The protests are working. Trump’s approval ratings continue to tank so keep up the pressure every way we can. The next protest will be October 18. Stay tuned for details.

Get ready for a day of action

Sunday, September 14th: Instead of the regular monthly meeting, the Hanover Democratic Committee will host a Day of Action in support of our statewide and House of Delegates candidates. Here are all the opportunities we have planned:

Fundraiser for Jay Jones in Mechanicsville at 12:30 - 2pm RSVP here.
Postcard writing at The Gathering Place at RVA Around the Table (155 Junction Drive in Ashland) from 1 to 5pm. Bring postcard stamps or money for stamps if you are able.
Phonebanking at The Gathering Place at RVA Around the Table (155 Junction Drive in Ashland) from 1 to 5pm. Make calls to voters in Hanover County. Have direct conversations with people in your community about this year's races and make new friends in the process. Training and call lists will be provided. Please bring your smartphone. Sign up here.
Canvassing: Knock doors in Ashland for Abigail Spanberger, Ghazala Hashmi, Jay Jones, and other Democrats on the ballot! First time canvassing? Don't worry, we'll provide all the training you need. Please bring your smart phone and install the MiniVan app in advance if you can. We are excited to talk to voters with you. Bring a friend!
