Action Team Updates
Members of Positive Mental Health Action Team (PMHAT), in partnership with Ebb & Flow Connection Cooperative, recently organized an eCPR (Emotional CPR) training in Sheboygan County. eCPR training is a powerful, heart-centered experience focused on connecting with others through presence, deep listening, and shared humanity. đź’™

With guidance from eCPR Certified Educators & Practitioners Melissa Milam, Health & Wellness Specialist at Prevea, Lynn McLaughlin, founding worker and owner of Ebb & Flow Connection Cooperative, and Ryan Dixon, Social Services Coordinator at Pine Haven Christian Communities, attendees explored how to hold space for individuals in emotional distress, respond with compassion rather than correction, and empower others through authentic connection.

Here’s to planting the seeds and growing community wellness in Sheboygan County, one connection at a time. 💫

Join us today! The HSC-PMHAT extends a warm welcome to all who seek to improve the mental health of individuals and communities in Sheboygan County.
The Sheboygan County Housing Coalition (SCHC) recently provided educational presentations to the Plymouth Common Council, the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and Professional Women's Luncheon. The coalition has also been reaching out directly to municipalities and county governments to join the SCHC or at a minimum provide updates on what is happening in the world of housing (TID's, Zoning, Permits, etc.). So far the new Director of Planning and Development and the person overseeing the Comprehensive Plan as well as the Housing Study have partnered with the SCHC.

The Sheboygan County Housing Coalition (SCHC) would love to have you get involved in our work. Please reach out to hsc@sheboygancounty.com or housingcoalitionsc@gmail.com if you are interested in joining.
The Sheboygan County Activity and Nutrition (SCAN) Action Team is hosting the Sunny Days Activity Challenge this July. Anyone who lives or works in Sheboygan County is able to join for a chance to win prizes all month long!
Interagency Council on Mental Health: Seeking Public Input
In 2024, Governor Tony Evers created the Interagency Council on Mental Health (ICMH) and brought together 10 state agencies to create a statewide action plan to address Wisconsin's mental health crisis. To improve and support the mental health of all Wisconsinites we must take a 'whole-of-government' approach to the solution.

The council brings together state agencies to expand prevention efforts and increase access to mental health services when and where people need them. By collaborating and bringing together state agencies, we can improve the mental health outcomes of Wisconsinites.

In addition to these efforts, the council is actively engaging with other state agencies, Tribal nations, local officials, and statewide committees and councils who have been collaborating to improve access to care and address Wisconsinites’ mental health.

We need your help!

We cannot do this work alone. It will take all of us working together across the state to address this crisis, and we need to hear directly from impacted Wisconsinites. The council wants to hear from Wisconsinites with a range of experience with mental health including people with lived experience, those who provide care or treatment to people with mental health conditions, and mental health advocates.

That is why the Interagency Council on Mental Health is asking Wisconsinites to provide input on how the State of Wisconsin can continue working to improve the mental health for our residents. You can make recommendations using this survey which is open until June 30.

Current Grant Funding Opportunities
FairShare Pilot Program
Debtle is excited to launch a new product, FairShare, based on the feedback from the community on the current processes for helping connect people to the resources, programs, and financial aid they are eligible for.

Due to the generosity of an individual in our community, Debtle is able to offer a pilot for Sheboygan County at no cost to organizations.

To participate in the pilot, at minimum an organization will need to:
  • Opt-in to accepting inbound applications from Sheboygan County residents (for example, a clinic that has a financial assistance application- we will digitize the form and enable people to submit the completed form via Debtle. The organization will have a Debtle account and will be notified when someone submits a completed application)
  • Provide either an application that we can digitize or the basic information you'd like to collect from the person interested in your program or service. (Example: you don't have income restrictions, so you may not have a financial assistance application. You would be able to dictate which fields you'd like to include even if only name and contact info is required).
  • Sign the 6-month service agreement agreeing to the free pilot.
That's it! There are more features and ways to use Debtle, but that will be the minimum needed to be included in the regional pilot.

You can fill out this form if you are interested in participating or learning more about this program.
