Virginians for Fair Elections explain that “Across the country, Trump and MAGA-controlled legislatures are taking unprecedented steps to redraw congressional maps — without voter approval — to rig upcoming elections. As states like Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, and soon Florida move forward, Virginians face the real risk of having our voices diminished in Washington.” Virginians must vote “Yes” on the temporary redistricting amendment in order to stop Trump from stealing the 2026 midterm election.
On Friday, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled that the redistricting referendum can move forward as planned. Here is the voting information from the Hanover County Registrars Office:
April 21, 2026 Special Election — Proposed Constitutional Amendment
Early Voting runs March 6 through April 18 in the Wickham Building. Please enter the main double doors. Curbside voting for anyone with a disability or over the age of 65 will be at this entrance. The absentee ballot drop box will be located at this entrance and available until 7 p.m. on April 21.
Early Voting Hours
Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 11 and Saturday, April 18: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Reminders
April 10 is the last day to request an absentee ballot. Your application must be received by 5 p.m.
April 14 is the last to register to vote or make changes. In person by 5 p.m. or online by 11:59 p.m.
April 18 is the last day to vote early in the Wickham building.
April 20 at 2 p.m. is the cut off for voting an emergency absentee ballot.
April 21 is Election Day. All voting will be at your usual precinct.. Curbside and absentee ballot drop off located at all polling locations.
There will be no voting in the Wickham Building this day.
April 22 at 1 p.m., the Electoral Board will hold the canvass meeting to ascertain election results as well as rule on provisional ballots.
April 24 at 12 p.m. is deadline to cure absentee ballots.
