From the desk of Ashleigh Stevens
Can you believe it's already May? The trees are blooming; I'm sneezing like crazy. But, I'm also having a lot of fun with my writing.

One of my projects this month is editing a romantic suspense novella that will be FREE when it's finally finished. However, I still need some feedback from some beta readers.

What's a beta reader?
After writing this story, I sent it to a series of alpha readers who gave me some feedback as to some changes they would like to see. Now, I'm looking for some beta readers who can read through the manuscript and let me know if those changes work. While I don't expect you to find every little mistake, I do welcome feedback on how things are worded. However, for the most part, I'm just looking to see how you, as a reader, enjoyed it.

Am I qualified to be a beta reader?
Of course. I just want to know what readers think of it. Since you are part of my target audience, you are extremely qualified. I'll even provide you with a checklist to help you with your feedback.

What's the book?
The working title (which will definitely change) is called My Summer Internship. Here's a quick blurb:

Getting paid to kayak every day sounded like the perfect summer job. Until the lake monster showed up.
Ellie really needs this summer job, even if it means kayaking up and down a river twelve hours a day and sleeping in a tent at night with a guy she just met. But, mysterious accidents and rumors of a lake monster have her second-guessing her decision.

Should he stay quiet about his unrequited love?

When you're in love with your best friend ...

He yearns to let his best friend know he’s in love with her. What’s so terrible about that?

If she could return those feelings.

Benjamin has known Kat all his life, but once puberty hit, she started starring in all his most explicit dreams. Why hasn’t he told her?

Because she’s never treated him like anything other than her nerdy, brotherly BFF.

Now that they’re about to graduate college, should he risk ruining the closeness they share by telling her the truth? Or will not telling her carry worse consequences than he ever could’ve imagined?

WARNING: this story is an open-ended prequel for my Big Apple Billionaires Series and contains nerve inducing wildlife sightings in the wilderness, Spanish (and English) cuss words, the ill-advised mixing of s’mores with brandy, and a naughty X-rated dream.
