QUOI DE NEUF AVEC MATT?

 
The time comes, you run fast and you leap! Almost two weeks ago, my management team called: do I know Igor Stravinsky's Les noces...in French? (It's usually sung in Russian, and it's a challenging piece—but great fun.) Rehearsal started in two days, the first concert was four days away.

Two days later, I was on a plane and off to sing with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and a stellar group of colleagues. We were in good hands with our conductor, Kent Nagano—he's done the piece over 120 times!

Wow! A great week in a great city, and a nice write up in Le Devoir:

"...and bravo to the one who assembled such a perfect cast of soloists...[the substitution of Matt Boehler]...earned a microphone announcement, as this last-minute bass was excellent and funny."

Oh...and there was a funny little astronomical happening up there too. Neat coincidence! 🌞🌙😎

Much gratitude for my good friend Steven Blier, who ushered in the NYC premiere of my song Let Beauty Awake with the beloved New York Festival of Song. Two fantastic singers with Young Concert Artists, Daniel McGrew and Joseph Parrish, really made the piece their own—in the hall you could ((feel)) the hush their performance inspired.
