Take Action Now is a biweekly call from the Hanover Democratic Committee

for grassroots action to move our country forward during these exciting times.

Please join us in taking these simple actions on the local, state and national levels.

Help our candidates

Congratulations to Democrats Leslie Mehta and Gloria Witt for winning their respective primary races. Leslie will face off against current incumbent, Congressman Rob Wittman, in the 1st Congressional District. Most of eastern and central Hanover fall within the 1st District and Hanover knows all too well how Wittman, a MAGA loyalist, has failed to represent the interests of this district.

Gloria won the Democratic primary for the 5th Congressional District which includes 6 precincts in the western end of Hanover County. As of this writing, the Republican primary in that district is considered too close to call. Republican State Senator John McGuire challenged incumbent Congressman Bob Good because Good was deemed to be not loyal enough to Trump. Trump endorsed McGuire and the race has been getting national news coverage, but both McGuire and Good are right-wing extremists, MAGA sycophants, and election deniers.

Let’s commit to doing all we can to getting these extremist Republicans out of Washington by supporting Mehta and Witt. Go to their websites to learn about their candidacy, volunteer, and contribute.

Friend-banking and Friendship Bracelets in RVA:

June 29th 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Join your Virginia Victory Organizing team in Richmond as we conduct a training on a new Friend-to-Friend outreach platform and start talking to our friends about how the first Presidential Debate of 2024 went. Then we will make friendship bracelets for our friends that are fired up to vote for Democrats this November.
