Crazy Over ART on tour 2025

Kiwanis

With opening night at the Poughkeepsie Train Station, Kiwanis featured many winners in their 'What I want to be when I grow up' poster contest. Many children, family and friends, including Mayor Yvonne Flowers and some of Poughkeepsie's best and finest law enforcement joined in the celebration on the coldest day in April. CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!

Abilities First

What is better than working with many talented adults from Abilities First? Assisting them in designing their own personal baseball caps and blinging them all out with gems, markers and jeweled stickers. All hats were exhibited locally give the public a view of hat-makers extravaganza.

Easter Egg Hunt

What a great day at Waryas Park along the Hudson River to hunt for Easter eggs, decorate them, eat wonderful local food, listen to the city's best music and come together as a community. It was wonderful to run into so many locals that have been creating with us over the years!

Awesome Foundation

With three local artists, Poughkeepsie residents on Rose Street learned 3 fine crafts. Journaling, Masks and Zentangle were the classes of choice with hands on mentoring and teaching. Thanks to Awesome Foundation for sponsoring this event.

PKX Festival

The rain couldn't keep us out of the PKX Festival sponsored by The Art Effect, was held at Poughkeepsie Family Partnership gymnasium. With local student poetry, music, art, vendors and more, we celebrated by networking, creating and viewing many fine teen films. So many gifted teens in the Queen city.

Recommendation Corner

I recently visited Binghamton, NY at the Broome County Arts Council for 2 outstanding artists shown in June this year. WOW, what a fabulous job this Council incorporates First Fridays with local talent, streets filled with energy, activity and love! If you are in the area, I highly recommend this center. They have several local artists' creations for sale. So worth the trek...
